Description
Hamilton 4992b Navigator pocket watch with 24 hr dial, meaning one revolution per 24 hours. Made for the U.S military for use in WW2, dates to early 1940s so this watch was likey used in B17 bombing raids. G.C.T stands for Greenwich Civil Time, this was used until 1952 when it changed to G.M.T. The Hamilton advert dates to 40’s, and shows the watch and its intended use. A proper tool watch!
The watch is in superb condition with no dents or dings to the case, the mushroom crown is also original. The engraving is still very crisp and legible. The dial and hands are in great condition. This has to be one of the cleanest 4992B’s offered for sale.
The watch is running well but is unserviced by me, currently keeping good time and the hacking function works perfectly.
Points to consider: Superb condition, WW2 military history, amazing dial and hands.
