Description
Omega Chronostop 145.010 ‘Driver’ with serial 26561379, dating the watch to 1968.
The most interesting thing about the Chronostop ‘Driver’ is that it was designed to be worn on the underside of wrist. Omega advertised the Chronostrop as a driver’s watch and pushed the idea of wearing it in that unusual fashion, since the topside of the wrist isn’t easily visible while your hands are on a steering wheel!
Overall the watch is in fair condition, with some wear marks to the case commensurate with age. The dial and hands are in very good condition, and the lume has aged with a lovely chestnut patina. All lume plots are present at each hour marker.
The cal 865 was serviced by Simon Freese in July ’23, and will have the remainder of 12 months mechanical warranty from that date. The watch is over 50 years old, so water damage is not covered.
The case is 35mm ex crown, with 18mm lugs. Comes on a new leather rally band.
Points to consider: Rare 145.010 ‘Driver’ Omega Chronstop, lovely patina, Cal 865 serviced with warranty.
