Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 ‘Straight Writing’.
I also ordered an Omega extract of the archives and this has just been completed. The extract is currently being shipped from Switzerland and will be included in the sale at no extra cost. I have attached a PDF copy of the extract showing the details, the original will be included.
The watch is in overall good condition with only a few marks commensurate with a watch of this age. The case is still very sharp and has well defined bevels and lugs. There are a few marks to the bezel, but again they are small. There is a tiny mark on the dial around 11, but this looks more like a small stain and can only be seen at certain angles, and with a loupe. These marks are generally present on most watches approaching 50 years of age, but I prefer to highlight everything.
The Cal 861 movement was serviced by the best in the business, Simon Freese, in November 2022. 12 months mechanical warranty is provided from 25.11.22. As expected all functions are working correctly, and the watch is keeping good time. The serial is 31615464, so is in the correct range.
All parts are original and correct, including the 1171/633 bracelet with ‘trapezoid’ clasp. The bracelet will fit a wrist of approx 7 inches. Extra 1171 links are fairly easy to find if needed. The pushers are original, as is the wide 24 tooth crown.
The dial and hand lume is original and has aged with a nice vanilla patina.
Overall this is a very nice example of a 145.022-69 ‘Straight Writing’ Speedmaster. Good examples of this reference are getting harder to find. Comes with a new handmade soft leather carry case.
