Description
For sale is a very nice Omega Speedmaster 145.014 that has been recently serviced by Simon Freese Watchmakers in Essex, UK.
The watch has Omega’s trusty Cal.861 with serial 31324310, this dates the watch to circa 1969, making it one of the earlier MK11’s produced.
The case is in good shape and appears largely unpolished. The bevels still retain good shape and the brush finish is still clearly present on the case top. There are some small marks commensurate with a 50 year old watch, but overall I would say the condition is good. The centre of the case is a good size at 42mm exc crown. The case back is correct and stamped 145.014, the Hippocampus is there, but a little faint from wear.
The dial is unmarked and has aged with a peppermint green patina often seen with this reference. The hands are original with a slightly darker patina. The mineral crystal is unmarked, which is nice to see, as they can often be scratched.
The lugs are 20 mm and the watch comes on a black leather band. The watch was serviced in April 2022 and comes with 12 months mechanical warranty with Simon Freese Watchmakers from that date. All functions work as expected.
Points to consider: Early mark 11 Speedmaster, serviced cal 861, original watch, mark free glass and dial, 12 months warranty.
