Description
A very rare Seamaster 30 issued to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in 1968.
The watch is in superb condition and is the real deal. The movement was serviced by Simon Freese in May 2022 and has the remainder of the 12 month warranty. An Omega extract is included confirming delivery to the Pakistan Air Force on August 14th 1968.
The dial is in amazing condition for an issued watch of this age, and has it’s original tritium markers, the hand lume also appears original and matches the dial nicely. The plots have a lovely vanilla patina. The case back is still nice and sharp with its P.A.F engraving, and also serial number that matches the movement and extract. The case is still sharp and appears unpolished to me, it measures approx 34.5mm exc crown. Lugs are 18mm with spring bars.
The cal 601 was serviced only a few weeks ago by Simon Freese (May 2022), and comes with the remainder of the 12 month mechanical warranty.
An Omega extract was ordered, this shows case ST135.011 and Cal 601 movement serial 26.661.837 was delivered to the Pakistan Air Force on August 14th 1968. As previously mentioned this serial corresponds with case back engraving.
These watches are hard to find in genuine form, and this one is also in superb condition. Comes with Simon Freese service receipt, Omega extract of archive and new black nato as shown.
The Pakistan Air Force, or PAF as it is known, was formed in 1947 and has had a large and mobile aircraft fleet ever since. Today it is still the 8th largest aircraft fleet in the world and has been involved in numerous war’s and mission support since it’s inception.
It is likely that these 1960’s issued watches certainly saw military action and were involved in some of the most intense air combat seen during any wars post 1945. The India – Pakistan wars were very heavily aircraft and air combat focused with 1000s of deployment sorties being flown and a number of planes destroyed on both sides in the air and on the ground.
