Description
A very nice Seiko ‘Gen 2’ issued to the Royal Air Force for pilot use in 1995.
These watches came after the previous models that were issued in the 1980s with 7A28 movements. This later model was issued in 1995 so likely saw action in Kosovo and Afghanistan.
The watch has the correct engraved caseback showing 6645-99-814181. 6645 = code for Time Measuring Instrument, 99 = NATO Country Code, UK and 814181= the part number. We also see 2017 which the issue number and 95 relating to the issue year, 1995.
The case measures 37.7 mm across, excluding the crown, and has an inter-lug width of 20mm. Fixed strap bars are incorporated as per the MoD standard and the watch comes on a new 20mm NATO strap.
These watches were designed to last and the functions have been checked and work as designed. There are small marks to the case but these are commensurate with a 25 year old issued watch that has seen service. 1 months warranty from date of sale.
