Description

A very interesting Sinn 903 with manual wind Lemania 1873. This is the early version and came before the Valjoux automatics that are more commonly seen.

The watch is superb condition and appears barely worn. The original strap is still present and the Sinn text can still be clearly be seen indicating the watch has been worn sparingly. The case is unpolished and still retains its original factory finish. The dial is tritium and has aged to show a lovely chesnut patina. The bezel is still smooth to turn and if you know how to use the functions it will reveal a multitude of calculations as it was designed to do. The Lemania Cal 1873 is obviously rich in history and the base model for the Speedmaster Cal 861. All functions work correctly and the chronograph starts/stops and resets to zero. The case is 41mm ex crown and the lugs are 22mm. The sapphire case back shows how clean the movement is, and although unserviced by me is keeping good time.

Comes with its original box and sales receipt, this is dated 09.07.98 and shows a purchase from Kerner Jewellers, Ulm, Germany.

Sinn 903 have a great story to them and this is down to the negotiating skills of Helmut Sinn, who snapped up certain rights from Breitling when the company was liquidated in 1979. This allowed him to use the dial layout and design from the Breitling 806 and 809 Navitimers. This is how the Sinn 903 originated.

Sold with 3 months mechanical warranty from sale.
